Nearly 900 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) have been repatriated to the country since May of the current year. This is amid ongoing efforts by the Philippine and Kuwaiti governments to address issues concerning policies for migrant workers.

According to DMW Undersecretary Hans Cacdac, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) continues to monitor the situation of Filipino workers in Kuwait.

The official also expresses hope for the further expansion of bilateral labor relations between the two countries.
If you recall, in the month of May, the Kuwaiti government suspended all new visas for OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) due to reported violations by the Philippines of their bilateral labor agreement signed in 2018. Among these violations was the establishment of shelters for Filipino workers who escaped from their abusive employers
